There are Disney parks all around the world from California and Florida to Paris, Hong Kong and Shanghai but for us, Tokyo Disneyland stands head and shoulders above the rest. Not only does it feel like the most magical and detailed Disney park we’ve visited, but we found the experience to be incredibly worth the price too especially compared to some other Disney resorts around the globe. From enchanting lands to delicious snacks, iconic rides, clever crowd strategies, and joyful moments everywhere we turned, it quickly became our favourite Disney destination.

✨ A Park With Seven Magical Lands
Tokyo Disneyland is beautifully divided into themed lands that make you feel like you’re stepping into the worlds of your favourite stories. Some highlights we loved:
🌟 World Bazaar
This is your grand, Victorian-style entrance street a charming covered thoroughfare full of shops, cafes, and that classic Main Street energy you expect at a Disney park.
🏝 Adventureland
Home to swashbuckling adventures like Pirates of the Caribbean one of our favourite rides ever. The immersive journey through pirate-infested waters never gets old.
🤠 Westernland & Critter Country
An ode to the American frontier with classics like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, riverboats, and the splashy, joyful Splash Mountain (another personal favourite).
🏰 Fantasyland
This is the heart of Disney fairy tales home to iconic favorites like it’s a small world, Snow White’s Adventures, and more whimsical experiences that charm guests of all ages.
🌆 Tomorrowland & Toontown
Futuristic fun meets cartoon chaos. From spinning rockets to Baymax-themed whirls, plus the joy of exploring Mickey and friends’ quirky homes in Toontown there’s magic in every corner.
Tokyo Disneyland blends timeless Disney classics and unique experiences:
Splash Mountain (Critter Country) – Our absolute favourite big splash adventure, mixing storytelling with fun drops.
Pirates of the Caribbean (Adventureland) – A richly detailed boat ride that’s easy to love again and again.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – Fast, fun, and wildly entertaining.
it’s a small world, Snow White’s Adventures, Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters all delightful staples that feel special in the Tokyo park.
The Happy Ride with Baymax (Tomorrowland) A whimsical spin with everyone’s lovable healthcare companion.
Each land and ride has its own charm and detail that keeps the experience fresh and exciting.
If you think the rides are amazing, wait until you taste the food! Tokyo Disneyland has a seriously fun snack scene, and the popcorn here is practically a cult food experience:
🔥 Popcorn Flavours Galore
Tokyo Disneyland offers a huge variety of popcorn flavours that you won’t find anywhere else from soy sauce & butter, curry, black pepper, and even corn potage to classic caramel and honey. There are also colourful souvenir buckets that fans love to collect making popcorn more of an adventure than a snack on the go.
🍦 Other Sweet & Savoury Treats
While popcorn is the star, you’ll also find adorable character shaped ice creams, themed cupcakes, seasonal drinks, and creative counter-service eats scattered across the park. Every snack stop becomes part of the memory!
One of the best surprises of our trip was how manageable ride waits were especially compared to peak wait times you hear about at other Disney parks. We were very lucky to snag some anniversary FastPasses (Disney Premier Access), which helped us breeze onto big rides with minimal delays. With these, most rides were under 30 minutes, and even the big attractions were closer to an hour at most. That’s an unbeatable way to enjoy so much in just one day!
Even without passes, lines at Tokyo Disneyland tend to stay reasonably efficient and if you arrive early or use the official app smartly, you can experience loads with shorter waits later in the day too.

Compared to some other Disney parks around the world where ticket prices can feel astronomical and the cost of extras like queue-skipping passes adds up fast Tokyo Disneyland feels genuinely worth every yen. The balance of attractions, quick service dining, thoughtful entertainment and park maintenance makes it feel like a fuller, richer experience for the price.
Our first visit to Tokyo Disneyland was absolutely unforgettable. From the immersive themed lands to the heart-pounding joyrides, mouth-watering snacks, clever crowd management, and even the way the park feels warm, welcoming, and polished to perfection we can’t wait to go back.
If you’re a Disney lover or just someone who loves magical moments Tokyo Disneyland deserves a spot at the top of your theme park bucket...
