The Heart of Hội An

This photo project is a tribute to the people of Hoi An the hands that stir morning broth before sunrise, the tailors who stitch stories into fabric, the lantern makers who fold light into silk, and the elders who sit quietly watching the river remember.
Beyond its golden walls and glowing lanterns, Hội An is shaped by the warmth of its locals. Their kindness is not loud; it is found in small gestures a shared smile across a market stall, an invitation to sit, a patient conversation despite language barriers. It lives in the rhythm of daily life: bicycles gliding through narrow lanes, vendors arranging herbs with care, fishermen untangling their nets along the water.
This project focuses not on spectacle, but on presence. Through intimate portraits and candid street moments, it seeks to honour the vibrant spirit of the community the resilience, humility, and quiet generosity that make Hội An more than a destination. It is the people who give the town its soul.
