Markets Of Hoi An

This photo project explores the everyday life of the markets around Hoi An’s Old Town, centering on the people who give these streets their pulse. I focus on moments of work, exchange, and quiet routine hands weighing herbs, voices calling out prices, brief glances between buyers and sellers. Each street carries its own rhythm: different energies, different products, different relationships shaped by place and time.

Moving through the markets, the camera becomes a way of listening. Vegetables, fish, fabrics, and household goods are more than objects for sale; they are part of a living network of labor, tradition, and human connection. By photographing these interactions, the project aims to honor the dignity of daily work and the subtle poetry found in ordinary transactions, revealing the market as a shared space where commerce, culture, and community meet.
